Resolution Authorizing Award Of Bid For The Purchase Of Two 3 /4-
Ton Pickups To Wichita Falls Ford Lincoln Mercury In The Amount
Of $38,938.04.
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to purchase finro 3/4-ton pickups for the
City's vehicle fleet;
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls advertised and requested bids for the
purchase of two 3 /-ton pickups, and bids were received and publicly opened on March
4, 2011;
WHEREAS, Local Government Code Section §271.9051 .....allows a
municipality to award a bid that is within five percent of the lowest bid price received to
the bidder whose principal place of business is in the municipality if the governing body
of the municipality determines, in writing, that the local bidder offers the municipality the
best combination of contract price and additional economic development opportunities
for the municipality created by the contract award, including the employment of
residents of the municipality and increased tax revenues to the municipality..... ;
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that Wichita Falls Ford is within 0.62% of the
low bid, employs more than 50 personnel, and paid $86,129.80 for 2010 property taxes;
and
WHEREAS, City Council determines that Wichita Falls Ford (1) is a local bidder,
and (2) offers the City the best combination of contract price and additional economic
development opportunities for the City created by this contract award.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The bid for the purchase of finro 3 /-ton pickups is awarded to Wichita Falls
Lincoln Mercury in the amount of $38,938.04, and City staff are authorized to execute
all documents necessary to purchase said items there from in accordance with the
attached Bid Tabulation.
