Res 101-2026 Buses and Bus Facilities Infrastructure Investment Program Grant 09/01/2026 Resolution No. 101-2026
Resolution authorizing the City Manager to apply for and accept a
Federal Transit Administration Section 5339 Buses and Bus Facilities
Infrastructure Investment Program Grant in an estimated amount up
to $6,000,000.00
WHEREAS, one of the City of Wichita Falls' Strategic Goals is to Provide Quality
Infrastructure; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has identified the need for improved
transportation transfer facility for its bus operations and to seek funding for this proposed
facility may be available through the Federal Transit Administration under the Section
5339 Bus and Bus Facilities Infrastructure Investment Program; and,
WHEREAS, if funded, this funding will be used for design and CMaR construction
purposes; and,
WHEREAS, it is found that the City of Wichita Falls is an identified recipient to
receive the Section 5339 funding; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is hereby authorized to apply for and accept a Federal Transit
Administration Section 5339 Buses and Bus Facilities Infrastructure Investment Program
Grant, in an amount up to $6,000,000.00, for completion of a proposed bus transfer plaza
for bus operations to be located on South Wenonah Blvd.
