Resolution authorizing a contract for the replacement of the City's
Outdoor Warning System through the Houston-Galveston Area
Council (H-GAC) Purchasing Cooperative to OmniWarn LLC, in the
amount of$1,834,032
WHEREAS, Texas Local Government Code §252.022 exempts items purchased
through interlocal cooperative purchasing contracts from the State's competitive bidding
requirements; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has identified the need for outdoor warning
system improvements to enhance safety, efficiency, and functionality of the City's 53
sirens; and,
WHEREAS, OmniWarn LLC has submitted a responsive proposal in the amount
of$1,834,032 and has been determined to be a qualified and responsible contractor; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that OmniWarn LLC is offering services through
the H-GAC, and it is in the City's best interest to purchase equipment and services in
accordance with the Cooperative Purchasing Programs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is authorized to execute a contract and all related documents,
in a form approved by the City Attorney, necessary to replace the outdoor warning system,
through the H-GAC Purchasing Cooperative, from OmniWarn, LLC in the amount of
$1 ,834,032.00.
