Resolution authorizing the submittal of a grant application to FEMA
for the FY 2025 Fire Prevention and Safety Grant
WHEREAS, the City Council finds it in the best interest of the citizens of Wichita
Falls that the Fire Prevention and Safety Grant (FP&S) be applied for in the FY 2025,
through FEMA; and,
WHEREAS, the FP&S is a competitive process, the City Council agrees that it is
in the best interest of the citizens to apply for various departmental needs; and,
WHEREAS, if awarded, the City must, during the performance period, provide
matching funds in the amount of 5% of the grant; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council agrees that in the event of loss or misuse of the Fire
Prevention and Safety Grant funds, the City Council assures that the funds will be
returned to FEMA in full.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Council approves and authorizes the submission of the FY 2025 FEMA
Fire Prevention and Safety Grant application and authorizes the City Manager to execute
all necessary documents and apply for the grant on behalf of the applicant agency.
