Ordinance authorizing the development of the City's first
Comprehensive Safety Action plan for the total cost of $300,000
funded by the USDOT Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Planning
Funds in the amount of $240,000 and local match funds of $60,000
through the Transportation Planning Division/WFMPO
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls desires to improve the safety and security of
all area bicycle and pedestrian trails, facilities, infrastructure, and amenities; and,
WHEREAS, the USDOT Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) funding program
provides communities with funding to create and develop a local Comprehensive Safety
Action Plan; and,
WHEREAS, the USDOT SS4A program awarded the City of Wichita Falls
$240,000 in federal funds on an 80/20 match for the hiring of a qualified consulting firm
for the creation and development of the Wichita Falls Comprehensive Safety Action Plan;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Manager is authorized to execute a funding agreement
between the City and the USDOT for the completion of such project, in a form approved
by the City Attorney.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
Ordinance accepting and authorizing the use of the USDOT Safe Streets
and Roads for All (SS4A) funds for the hiring of a consultant firm for the
express purpose of creating and developing the Wichita Falls
Comprehensive Safety Action Plan (CSAP) in the amount of $240,000 and
authorizing the local match of $60,000 from the Transportation Planning
fund balance.
