The meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m.
Agenda Item:
Conference call with Cassie Stennett
A conference call was held between board members and Cassie Stennett, broker for the
Trust. Cassie presented the renewal options and proposals for the Trust's stop loss
insurance, to be renewed on December 1, 2007.
She presented proposals from several stop loss companies, including Symetra, HCC Life,
Sun Life, J A Hall, and HM Life as well as the current stop loss carrier, ING.
The current contract premium with ING with a specific deductible of$200,000., is
$9.63/Single, $28.53/Family and$2.65/Aggregate, at a cost of approximately$267,000.
per year. The cost to renew the current ING contract keeping the $200,000 specific
deductible would be approximately$293,000.
The best proposal came from ING which called for a raise in the specific stop loss
deductible to $225,000, with premium of$8.79/Single, $25.98/Family, and
$2.65/Aggregate. The projected annual cost is approximately$247,000.
Other comparable proposals ranged from $256,000 to $299,000 annually. The ING
proposal was the lowest.
Jim Dockery inquired as to whether any future premium changes to the plans, would
affect the bids, to which Cassie Stennett answered no.
After considerable discussion, Darron Leiker made a motion to accept the ING proposal
of approximately$247,000 yearly, and a specific deductible of$225,000. Jim Dockery
seconded the motion. Motion passed.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:00 a.m.
