EMPLOYEE BENEFITS TRUST MEETING
May 10, 2001
Present:
Bill Sullivan, Acting Chair
James Berzina, City Manager
Jim Dockery, Director of Finance
Gail Garmon, Employee Benefits Coordinator
The meeting was called to order by Bill Sullivan at 1:50 PM.
Mr. Sullivan made a motion to accept the minutes of the last
meeting with no corrections.
Motion was seconded by Jim Dockery. Motion carried.
Agenda Items :
Financial Statement:
The Financial Report for February 27, 2001 through April 30,
2001 was presented by Gail Garmon. The report showed a
beginning balance of $1, 597,471. , Deposits of $1,748, 044 . ,
Claims and Expenditures of $833,273 . , with an ending balance
of $2, 512,475 . . . She noted that the deposits included
$39,289 .16 in reimbursements from the stop loss carrier for
claims in excess of the $125,000 .00 specific limit. This
brought the total stop loss reimbursements for the contract
period 12/01/99 through 11/30/00 to $314,494 .63 .
Jim Dockery also gave a financial report showing a projected
ending balance for the current year of $664, 000 . on the high
side and $133, 000 . on the low side. He also stated that the
Tex Pool interest for April was $1,492 .00 .
New Business
There was some discussion on the new prescription coverage
through Eckerd Health Services. Ms. Garmon reported that
the first three billings from EHS (for the period of March 1
through April 15, 2001 were about $14, 000 .00 in total less
than what was normal under the previous carrier, Advance
Paradigm.
Old Business
There being no old business the meeting was adjourned at
2 : 15 PM.
