CALL TO ORDER:
Jim Heiman called the meeting to order at 1:30 p.m.
1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
The minutes from February 27, 2025 were put before the Board for approval,
Penny Miller made the motion to approve the minutes and Steve Garner
second the motion.
2. DEPARTMENTAL REPORT:
A. Recreation:
• Report was handed out to all members. See Attached
B. Parks:
• Report was handed out to all members. See Attached
C. Lake Wichita Revitalization Committee:
• Letter was sent stating funds are still available, but it is at a stand still at
this time
D. Circle Trail Update:
• A meeting is scheduled for Thursday March 27 for updates
E. Master Plan:
• Final plan has not been put on City Web page as of 3/27/25
F. Other Business, Announcements, Comments:
• Election for the new officers was brought before the committee and Jim
Heiman will remain 1st chair and Alan Donaldson as 2nd Chair. A motion to
approve with set by Sandy Fleming and Penny Miller second the motion.
Meeting was adjourned at 2:30pm.

Recreation Report March 2025
50 Plus Zone Average Daily Attendance for March at 277 per day.
Make Up Day with Elvis last week over 140 people attended.
New Neuropathy and Cooking Class begin in April.
Recreation hosted the Annual Fishing Rodeo 3/8 in cooperation with the Texas Parks &Wildlife
and Local Mater Naturalist.
Over half of the Summer Camp Staff have committed to returning this Summer.
Spring Sports leagues are underway with 52 Softball teams and 13 Volleyball teams.
Tournament season is underway at the Sports Complex with Economic Impact of over$680,000
in February and March with a big youth tournament this weekend.
Each weekend through mis June is booked right now at the Sports Complex

Tennis & Pickleball
Both Tennis Centers are hosting 3 A and Under District meets yesterday and today.
New Classes and Leagues beginning soon
Large Tennis and Pickleball tournaments the weekend of 4/25-27
Partnership with Wichita Falls Arts Alliance and CVB is allowing us to get a much clearer picture
of the economic impact at our facilities.

Parks Report 3-2025
Playgrounds
The Zip Kroos at Kiwanis is getting mulch and the border installed. This should be completed in
the next two weeks.
Lamar Park will be the next playground installed.
Bridwell Park Futsal Court
The Wichita Alliance For Arts And Culture (WFAAC) committee has selected an artist to design
and install a mural on the court. There were eleven applications received. This selection is
confidential for now, as details are still being finalized. The preliminary design submission is
tentatively set for April 2nd.
Conoco Park (Dog Park)
The environmental study is almost complete. We will be ready to get quotes soon.
Park Lighting
We have received our shipment of Solar lights for Hamilton Park and the Trail. Parks will
coordinate with Traffic for the install.
