Res 069-2025 MVCPA FY 2026 Catalytic Converter Grant $305,000 07/01/2025 Resolution No. 69-2025
Resolution authorizing the City Manager or his designee to make
application for a grant from the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention
Authority (MVCPA), FY 2026 Request for application —SB 224 Catalytic
Converter Grant in the amount up to $305,000.00
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Texas Transportation Code Chapter 1006
and the Texas Administrative Code Title 43; Part 3; Chapter 57, entities are eligible to
receive grants from the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority to provide financial
support to law enforcement agencies for economic automobile theft enforcement teams
and to combat motor vehicle burglary in the jurisdiction; and,
WHEREAS, this grant program will assist this jurisdiction to combat catalytic
converter theft; and,
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls City Council agrees that in the event of loss or
misuse of grant funds, the Wichita Falls City Council assures that the funds will be
returned to the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, AND ORDERED THAT: Stephen Calvert, Chief Financial
Officer, is designated as the Authorized Official to apply for, accepts, decline, modify, or
cancel the grant application for the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority Grant
Program and all other necessary documents to accept said grant; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Manuel Borrego, Chief of Police, is designated
as the Program Director and Susan White, Associate Director of Finance, is designated
as the Financial Officer for this grant.
