Res 059-2025 FY 2026 Catalytic Converter Grant from Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority 05/20/2025 Resolution No.59-2025 Resolutionauthorizing the City Manageror his designeeto make applicationfor a grant from the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority (MVCPA), FY 2026Request for Application SB 224 Catalytic Converter Grantin the amount up to $305,000 WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Texas Transportation Code Chapter 1006 and the Texas Administrative Code Title 43; Part 3; Chapter 57, entities are eligible to receive grants from the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority to provide financial support to law enforcement taskforces and agencies for economic motor vehicle theft, including catalytic converter theft; and, WHEREAS this grantprogram will assist this jurisdiction in combatingcatalytic converter theft; and, WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls City Council agrees that in the event of loss or misuse of funding from theMotor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority (MVCPA)Grant, the Wichita Falls City Council assures that the funds will be returned to theMotor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority (MVCPA), FY 2026,in full; and, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVEDBY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, AND ORDERED THAT:Stephen Calvert, Chief Financial Officer, is designated as the Authorized Official to apply for, accept, decline, modify, or cancel the grant application for the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority Grant Program and all other necessary documents to accept said grant; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Manuel Borrego is designated as the Program Director and Susan Whiteand Krystal Bolton aredesignated as the Financial Officersfor this grant. th PASSED AND APPROVED this the20day ofMay2025. ______________________________ M A Y O R ATTEST: ____________________ City Clerk
