Ordinance appropriating $150,000 in Opioid Settlement Funding
Grants for assistance to not-for-profit organizations and authorizing
the City Manager to execute contracts accepting same
WHEREAS, the City Council adopted and approved the Texas Opioid Abatement
Fund Council and Settlement Allocation Term Sheet; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls received two distributions of settlement funds;
and,
WHEREAS, an appointed subcommittee and City staff have reviewed the
applications and have made a formal recommendation to City Council for funding of local
not-for-profit organizations in the amounts listed in the Attachment included in this
Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager is authorized to execute all necessary funding agreements and
associated documents, in forms approved by the City Attorney, related hereto to distribute
funding to local not-for-profit organizations in the amounts as recommended by an
appointed subcommittee outlined in this Ordinance and associated Attachment.
