Res 015-2025 SHSP-LETPA FY 26 Grant 02/04/2025 Resolution No. 15-2025
Resolution authorizing the City Manager or his designee to make an
application for a grant from the Office of the Governor, State
Homeland Security Program, Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention
Activities (SHSP-LETPA), FY'26, in the amount up to $40,000.00
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has been notified that it is eligible to apply for
a non-matching grant funding opportunity from the Office of the Governor, State
Homeland Security Program, Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Activities (SHSP-
LETPA), FY' 26 in the amount up to $40,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls City Council finds it in the best interest of the citizens
of Wichita Falls, that the city will apply to obtain the available funds from the Office of the
Governor, State Homeland Security Program, Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention
Activities (SHSP-LETPA); and,
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls City Council agrees that in the event of loss or
misuse of funding from the Office of the Governor, State Homeland Security Program,
Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Activities (SHSP-LETPA) the Wichita Falls City
Council assures that the funds will be returned to the Office of the Governor, State
Homeland Security Program (SHSP-LETPA) in full; and,
WHEREAS, the Wichita Falls City Council designates Stephen Calvert, Chief
Financial Officer, as the grantee's authorized official. The authorized official is given the
power to apply for, accept, reject, alter, or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant
agency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to make an application for
a non-matching grant from the Office of the Governor, State Homeland Security Program,
Law Enforcement Terrorism Prevention Activities (SHSP-LETPA), FY'26 in the amount
of up to $40,000.00.
