Res 164-2024 Bid & Contract for Directional Boring Downtown Lighting Project 12/17/2024 Resolution No. 164-2024
Resolution authorizing the City Manager to award bid and contract for
the Directional Boring for the Downtown Lighting Project from Bowles
Construction Co. through the American Rescue Plan Act in the
amount of$1,039,750.00
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls has received funding from the American
Rescue Plan; and,
WHEREAS, City Council passed a non-binding resolution on June 14, 2022, that
identified funds for this project; and,
WHEREAS, funding of $2,000,000 was allocated for the roadway and pedestrian
lighting improvements in the Downtown area of Wichita Falls on May 6, 2023; and,
WHEREAS, the guidance from the American Rescue Plan Act allows for the
appropriation of these funds for this purpose; and,
WHEREAS, it is found that Bowles Construction Co. has submitted a unit price bid
with a total of $1 ,039,750.00.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
City staff is authorized to execute all documents necessary to enter into a contract,
in a form approved by the City Attorney, with Bowles Construction Co. for the Directional
Boring for the Downtown Lighting Project through the American Rescue Plan Act in the
amount of$1 ,039,750.00.
