MINUTES OF MEETING
November 15, 1963
The Firemen and Policemen Civil Service Commission of the City of
Wichita Falls, Texas met on Thursday, November 14, 1963, 10:00 A. M., in
the Personnel Office, 1300 7th Street, Room 200. Those present were:
Lyle B. Cherry, Chairman
John Estes, Member
James B. Thomas, Member
A. Martinez, Director
Evelyn Wyatt, Secretary
This meeting was called for the purpose of discussing the following:
1. A request by Police Chief C. C. Daniel to change Civil Service
Rule 5, Section 13H, and to possibly revise this rule, which
pertains to police recruit qualifications on education.
2. A request by Chief Hurshel Johnson to change Civil Service
Rule 5, Section 13B. However, this request was voted down and
rule will remain the same.
3. A request by Chief Hurshel Johnson for the Director of Civil
Service to give entrance exam to fireman applicants, for the
purpose of establishing an eligibility roster.
Decision was made to request City Attorney, H. P. Hodge, Jr. to review
rules, and to bring Civil Service Rules up to date.
