CALL TO ORDER:
Alan Donaldson called the meeting to order at 1:30 p.m.
1 APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
The minutes from October 26, 2023 were put before the Board for approval.
Jessica Traw made the motion to approve the minutes and Dorcas Chasteen
second the motion.
3. DEPARTMENTAL REPORT:

• Grant approved, still in waiting period.
F. Other Business, Announcements, Comments:
• Master plan contract is finished and will be meeting in late November to
put together steering committee.
• January board will elect new officers.

Park Board Recreation Report December 2023
50 Plus Zone daily average currently at 247
50 Plus Zone Thanksgiving Lunch with the Ken Nelson Jazz Band was held in November with
140 people attending.
Christmas with Elvis Lunch is Decmber 14t".
Recreation Class enrollment for November was 51. So far, December enrollment is at 44.
Christmas in the Park was held Saturday 12/2 with over 600 people enjoying the Candy Cane
Scramble, visits with Santa and Mrs. Clause, games, balloon animals, crafts and train rides.
Trolley Tours are scheduled for 12/12 & 14. The 200 spots available were sold out in the first
three days it was offered.
The Parks & Rec. stage and train will be a part of the Downtown Christmas Parade on Dec.
16t".
Fall Softball and Volleyball leagues ended in November. Registration for Winter Basketball and
Volleyball are still ongoing.
In cooperation with the CVB the USA Youth Softball National Tournament for June of 2025 has
been awarded to the city. The tournament is a week long event with more then 80 teams.
Dugout roofs at the Sports complex have been replaced, a new concession stand window
should be installed within the month, new bleacher boards have been ordered, a third bid for
restroom renovations and new Ac/Heat for concession should be in soon, and bids are in on
new portable fence system. Hopefully, all of these items can be installed by the first
tournament in February.
Falls Town Courts at Hamilton Park hosted a youth Thanksgiving tournament with 22 entries
and a Pro Am tournament with the MSU tennis Team.
In December the center will host Holiday tennis Camos for youth during the Christmas break
and a Ugly Sweater Tournament for adults.
Over at Falls Town Courts at Weeks Park the center hosted Veterans Appreciation Day and a
Thanksgiving social in November.
In December the center will host an Ugly Sweater Social and two Doubles Play mixers.

Morningside Park makeover is near completion.They got a new playground, rehabbed swings, two
recycled disc golf baskets, three slabs for picnic tables and litter receptacles (TBI next week when
concrete cures).

We will start a new playground at Hursh Park in the next week or two. Old equipment is being removed
and dirt work is currently being done.
Tree removal and stump grinding all over town. This will be an all winter project.
Lake Wichita Park road and parking lot coming along slowly.

Ordered drawings for the new Futsal and Basketball courts at Bridwell Park. We will go out for bid when
we get them back.
Working an getting quotes for new playgrounds at Lions and Lamar.
Making plans with WFFD to assist in a controlled burn of the large brush pile in Lucy Park. Public notice
should go out today and we plan to burn on Monday.
The new tree spade has arrived and the Case new track loader was approved at Tuesdays council
meeting. Should be ordered this week.
