The June meeting of the Wichita Falls Traffic Safety Commission was called to
order by Chairman Robert Parker at 1:30 P.M..
The invocation was given by Trooper Joe Clement.
Chairman Parker introduced Lt. Gerald Todd as the new representative for the
Wichita Falls Police Department. Lt. Todd is replacing Lt. Fred Smith.
The financial report and minutes for May were accepted and approved as written.
The accident statistic reports were not available for review.

City Traffic Report
Mr. Parker reported that the detours are in place for the construction of the 7"' St.
bridge. Work should begin today and be completed by mid September.
State Traffic Report
Nothing to report.
Unfinished Business
Item 98 -03: '98 Spring Safety Patrol Program
Trooper Joe Clement advised that the swim party at Sand Beach was a
success.

Copeland's Packing donated the hot dogs.
The Police Officer's Association furnished the cooker and manpower to cook
Coca Cola donated the drinks.
The Food Barn donated cups.
Certificates will be sent to the businesses supporting the program.
Item closed.
New Business:
Item 98 -04: Sheppard Access /325 Access Road
Still under study. Item to remain open.
Items of Discussion
Chairman Parker advised that there will not be a July meeting scheduled.
Lt. Bill Doyle advised there is a problem at the pedestrian crossing at the base
hospital gate. Mr. Parker will arrange an inspection of the signal timing to try to alleviate
the problem.
There being no further business before the Commission, the meeting was adjourned
at 2:15 P.M..
