The minutes of the last meeting, October 8, 1997, were read by Don Burkman. A motion was made by Gail Key to approve the minutes and seconded by Carolyn Sanders. The minutes were approved as read by unanimous vote. Cathyrn Whaling, Chairman of the Nominating Committee was called on and the following officers were nominated to serve as officers for the Wichita Falls Arts Commission for FY 1998 -99: Heather Tedford, Chairman John Vitek, Vice Chairman Jean Hall, Secretary No other nominations were made and a motion was made by Gail Key and seconded by Linda Wilson to nominate these officers. The motion carried by unanimous vote. Presentations were made by representatives of non -profit organizations requesting funding from the 1995 -96 FY budget. These organizations were Wichita Falls Ballet Theatre, Inc., Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra, Inc. Wichita County Heritage Society, Inc., Midwestern State University Department of Art, Youth Opportunities Center, Wichita Falls Backdoor Players, Inc., Wichita Falls Area Fire & Police Museum, Midwestern State University Choral Department, Wichita Falls Community Messiah, Inc., Wichita Falls Railroad Museum, Inc., and The Greater Wichita Falls Alliance for the Performing Arts. Following the presentations, John Vitek moved that all of the applicants be considered for funding and Carolyn Sanders seconded the motion. The motion carried by unanimous vote. Balloting followed with each Commission member filling out an individual ballot. These 14 ballots were then averaged by applicant to produce the following recommendation to the City Council for funding from the FY 1998 -99 Budget: Organization W.F. Ballet Theatre, Inc. W.F.
