Resolution Awarding The Bid For The Purchase Of 11 Police
Interceptor Utility Vehicles to Wichita Falls Ford, In a Total Amount
Of $300,700.73
WHEREAS, the City of Wichita Falls (City) advertised and requested bids for
the purchase of eleven 2013 Police Interceptor Utility Vehicles,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to purchase 11 Police Utility Vehicles,
WHEREAS, Texas Local Government Code § 271.9051 allows a municipality to
award a bid for the purchase of personal property not exceeding $500,000 that is within
5% of the lowest bid price received to the bidder whose principal place of business is in
the municipality if the governing body of the municipality determines that the local
bidder offers the municipality the best combination of contract price and additional
economic development opportunities for the municipality created by the contract award,
including the employment of residents of the municipality and increased tax revenues
to the municipality; and
WHEREAS, there is a less than 5% difference between the low bidder and the
local bidder (Wichita Falls Ford), and the City Council finds that the that the local
bidder offers the City the best combination of contract price and additional economic
development opportunities for the City created by the contract award, including the
employment of residents of the City and increased tax revenues to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COIUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The bid for the purchase of eleven 2013 Police Interceptors is awarded to
Wichita Falls Ford, in the amount of $300,700.73, and City staff is authorized to
execute all documents necessary to complete said purchase.
