VISITORS
The August meeting of the Wichita Falls Traffic Safety Commission was called to
order by Chairman Dave Westen at 1:30 P.M.
Lt. Col. Bill Doyle gave the invocation.
Chairman Westen welcomed Councilor Dan Shine as the new council liason for the
commission. Commission members were introduced.
The financial report and minutes for June were accepted and approved as written.
The accident statistic reports were circulated for review.

City and State Traffic Report
Mr. Clyde Williford reported that the speed limit on Lawrence Rd. will be changed
to 35 m.p.h. between Kell and Call Field. Signs and markings on Enterprise are being
addressed as well as markings at Kell and McNiel. Both areas should be corrected by the
next commission meeting.

Item 99 -06: Kell - McNiel Street Markings
Item to remain open.
Item 99 -07: Enterprise Parking
Item to remain open.
Item 99 -09: Loud Music
Item to remain open due to Trooper Clement's absence.
New Business
None.
Items of Discussion
Councilor Dan Shine advised the commission that he has been contacted regarding
18 wheelers on Kell jake braking. Sgt. Robinett will check existing laws for the item to be
discussed and reviewed at the next meeting. Issue will be shown as Item 99 -10.
Councilor Shine also suggested as commission members are getting ready for their
terms to expire, they canvas their districts to determine possible candidates for the
commission. The councilors do not always know of interested parties in the various
districts.
There being no further business before the Commission, the meeting was adjourned
at 2:20 P.M.
