Museum & Art Center Elizabeth Yarosz, At-Large Member The meeting of the Wichita Falls Arts Commission was called to order at 11:45 a.m. by Chairman, John Vitek. J. W. Martin, City Council Liason, was called upon to speak about a special project to be sponsored by the Italian Air Force. Two young Italian pianists could be available for a special program either November 8th or 9th perhaps at Akin Auditorium. It was moved by Ann Funston and seconded by Heather Tedford to accept the minutes of the last Commission meeting as mailed to each member. Presentations were made by representatives of the local arts agencies that applied for funding from the 1991-92 FY budget. These included Carolyn Sanders for W.F. Ballet Theatre, Gayla Morris for Heritage Society, Larry Davis for M.S.U. Art Dept. , Brenda Jarrett for W.F. Art/Ent. and Culture, Bettye Hansen for W.F. Art Association, Bronna McNeely for W.F. Backdoor Players, John Hoffacker for M.S.U. Choral Dept. , Brent Stratten for W.F. Community Messiah, and Carol Smeaton for W.F. Symphony Orchestra. After the presentations, a motion was made by Ann Funston to consider recommending funding for all applications and Dannie Russell seconded this motion. The motion carried by unanimous vote. Commission members then marked their ballots and the average of their 15 votes resulted in the following recommendation to our City Council for funding of the $64,500 available to the Arts for FY 1991-92: Recommended Organization Funding W.F. Ballet Theatre, Inc. $ 10,846 W.F. Symphony Orchestra, Inc. 11,081 W. County Heritage Society 11,114 M.S.U. Dept. of Art 2,780 W.F. Art/Entertainment and Culture, Inc. 9,252 W.F. Art Association 878 W.F. Backdoor Players, Inc. 10,668 M.S.U. Choral Dept. 4,834 W.F.
