The meeting of the Wichita Falls Arts Commission was called
to order at 11:45 a.m. by Chairman, John Vitek. Grant
applications received on or before the Commission' s deadline
of May 1st were distributed and Don Burkman, Administrator,
presented a short discussion concerning the role of the Arts
Commission in evaluating these applications for funding from
the 1992-93 Fiscal Year.
The minutes of the October 2, 1991 meeting were read by
Elizabeth Yarosz. It was moved by Pat Grozier and seconded
by Dannie Russell to accept the minutes of the last
Commission meeting as read and the motion carried
unanimously.

Elizabeth Yarosz, chairman of the Nominating Committee made
a motion to nominate the following Arts Commission officers
for the following year:
John Vitek, Chairman
Dannie Russell, Vice Chairman
Ann Funston, Secretary
Martha Steimel moved to accept the nominations and Don
Henschel seconded the motion. The motion carried
unanimously.
Presentations were made by representatives of a majority of
the local arts agencies that received funding from the 1991-
92 FY budget. These included Theda Gohlke for W.F. Ballet
Theatre, Gayla Morris for Heritage Society, Richard Ash for
M.S.U. Art Dept. , Brenda Jarrett for W.F. Art/Ent. and
Culture, Jimmy Poteet for W.F. Art Association, Bronna
McNeely for W.F. Backdoor Players, and Carol Smeaton for
W.F. Symphony Orchestra.
Chairman Vitek announced that he has asked Brenda Jarrett
and Dannie Russell to appear before a special City Council
Committee on Wednesday, June 17th to discuss the
applications on hand for funding from the 1992-93 Fiscal
Year Budget.
