Jeff Ashlock, Lone Star Drum & Bugle Corps Don Maxwell, W.F. Community Messiah The meeting of the Wichita Falls Arts Commission was called to order at 11:45 a.m. by Chairman, John Vitek. The minutes of the last meeting, June 8, 1992 , were read. Presentations were made by representatives of the local arts agencies that requested funding from the 1992-93 FY budget. These included Carolyn Sanders for W.F. Ballet Theatre, Gayla Morris for Heritage Society, Carol Smeaton for W.F. Symphony Orchestra, Richard Ash for M.S.U. Art Dept. , Brenda Jarrett for W.F. Art/Ent. and Culture, Bettye Hansen for W.F. Art Association, Bronna McNeely for W.F. Backdoor Players, Dan White for M.S.U. Choral Dept, Don Maxwell for W.F. Community Messiah, Jeff Ashlock for the Lone Star Drum and Bugle Corps, and Tom Galbraith for the W.F. Railroad Museum. A discussion followed concerning the requests which totaled $95,416 with $65,975 budgeted for FY 1992-93 . A motion was made by Ann Funston to recommend funding for all applications. This motion was seconded by Dannie Russell, but failed. Cynthia Brock suggested that the commission consider all requests for funding with the exception of the Lone Star Drum & Bugle Corps and the W.F. Railroad Museum. A motion was made to recommend funding for the Lone Star Drum & Bugle Corps. The motion was made by Elizabeth Yarosz and seconded by Rosemary Medders. This motion failed. A motion was made by Elizabeth Yarosz and seconded by Cynthia Brock to recommend funding for the W.F. Railroad Museum. This motion failed. The 12 commission members present then proceeded to mark their ballots for the remaining applicants and the average of their 12 votes resulted in the following recommendation to our City Council for funding of the $65,975 available to the Arts for FY 1992-93 : Recommended Organization Funding W.F. Ballet Theatre, Inc. $ 10,583 W.F. Symphony Orchestra, Inc. 11,427 W. County Heritage Society 11, 252 M.S.U. Dept. of Art 3 ,997 W.F. Art/Ent. & Culture, Inc. 9,480 W.F. Art Association 1, 055 W.F. Backdoor Players, Inc. 10,992 M.S.U. Choral Dept. 4, 031 W.F.
