Division of Fine Arts The meeting of the Wichita Falls Arts Commission was called to order at 12:00 Noon by Heather Tedford, Chairman. The minutes of the last meeting, June 23 , 1994, were read by Polly Jones, Secretary. The minutes were approved as read by unanimous vote. Presentations were made by representatives of non-profit organizations requesting funding from the 1994-95 FY budget. These organizations were Backdoor Theatre, Inc. , Wichita County Heritage Society, Inc. , Wichita Falls Ballet Theatre, Inc. , Wichita Falls Community Messiah, Inc. , M.S.U. Art Dept. , M.S.U. Choral Dept. , Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra, Inc. , Wichita Falls Art, Entertainment, & Culture, Inc. and the Wichita Falls Railroad Museum. Following the presentations, Nancy Purcell moved that all of the applicants be considered for funding and Cathryn Whaling seconded the motion. The motion carried by unanimous vote. Balloting followed with each Commission member filling out an individual ballot. These 15 ballots were then averaged by applicant to produce the following recommendation to the City Council for funding from the FY 1994-95 Budget: Organization Amount Recommended W.F. Ballet Theatre, Inc. $ 9,462 W.F. Symphony Orchestra, Inc. 10,145 Wichita County Heritage Society, Inc. 9 ,624 M.S.U. Dept. of Art 3 ,674 W.F. Art, Entertainment & Culture, Inc. 8,628 W.F. Backdoor Players, Inc. 9,590 M.S.U. Choral Dept. 3,128 W.F. Community Messiah, Inc. 3 ,037 Wichita County Heritage Society d.b.a. 8,687 Wichita Falls Railroad Museum TOTAL FUNDS RECOMMENDED $65,975 The meeting was adjourned at 1:00 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Polly Jones, Secretary
