Graham, At-Large Member Martha Shores, At Large Member The meeting of the Wichita Falls Arts Commission was called to order at Midwestern State University' s Fain Fine Arts Center in Wichita Falls at 11:45 a.m. by Heather Tedford, Chairman. Don Henschel moved that the reading of the minutes of the last meeting be dispensed with and Linda Wilson seconded the motion. The motion carried by unanimous vote. Heather Tedford thanked the Midwestern State University' s Fine Arts Department for hosting this meeting as part of the Commission' s goal of meeting at as many grant recipients sites as possible. Presentations were made by representatives of non-profit organizations requesting funding from the 1997-98 FY budget . These organizations were Backdoor Theatre, Inc. , Wichita County Heritage Society, Inc. , Wichita Falls Ballet Theatre, Inc. , Wichita Falls Community Messiah, Inc . , M.S.U. Art Dept. , M. S .U. Choral Dept . , Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra, Inc. , and Wichita Falls Railroad Museum. Following the presentations, John Vitek moved that all of the applicants be considered for funding and Nedra Palmer seconded the motion. The motion carried by unanimous vote. Balloting followed with Commission members filling out ballots . These ballots were then averaged by applicant to produce the following recommendation to the City Council for funding from the FY 1997-98 Budget: Organization Amount Recommended W.F. Ballet Theatre, Inc . $ 11, 781 W.F. Symphony Orchestra, Inc . 11, 948 Wichita County Heritage Society, Inc. 10, 031 M.S.U. Dept . of Art 4, 940 W.F. Backdoor Players, Inc . 11, 948 M.S.U. Choral Dept . 4, 230 W.F. Community Messiah, Inc . 3, 807 W.F.
