The meeting of the Wichita Falls Arts Commission was called to order at
11: 50 A.M. by Chairperson, Carolyn Sanders. The reading of the minutes was
heard. The purpose of the meeting was to recommend to the City Council
this Commission' s suggestions as to how to best fund $59,000 to various
arts organizations from funds allocated in the 1989-90 Fiscal Year Budget.
Ten organizations submitted applications totalling $83 ,842; however, only
•
$59,000 was allocated. Representatives from each applying organization
gave five-minute presentations and each submitted to detailed questions
asked by Arts Commission members. A motion was made by Cathryn Whaling and
seconded by Lynn Marshal to consider all ten applications and this motion
passed unanimously. Ballots were then distributed to the 14 Arts
Commission members who were present and the following averaged allocations
resulted as the Arts Commission recommendation to the City Councilors for
the 1989-90 FY Budget:
