WICHITA FALLS ARTS COMMISSION MEETING
MAY 19, 1981
The Wichita Falls Arts Commission met in regular
session at noon on May 19, 1981 , at the Activities Center. The
following people were in attendance:
John Hampton, Jr. City Council
Troy Jensen At-large
Jerry Estes Wichita Falls Symphony
Don Maxwell MSU Music Dept.
Dr. Jennie L. Hindman At-Large
Gloria Lyday Midtown Fine Arts League
David Murray At-Large
Madge Muehlberger At-Large
Robert W. Arnol,d Backdoor Theatre
Cynthia Procknow Embroiderer's Guild of America (guest)
Dorcas Chapman At-Large
Don Burkman City of Wichita Falls
Martha Steimel Times Publishing Co.
Chairman Jerry Estes called the meeting to order at 12:15 p.m.
He then called on Don Maxwell , chairman of the nominating committee, to
give this committee's nominations for offices for the coming year. The
committee composed of Don Maxwell , Gloria Lyday, and Robert W. Arnold.
Dr. Maxwell presented the following names for nomination:
David Murray Chairman
Dorcas Chapman Vice-Chairman
Polly Cox Secretary
Don Maxwell then moved that these officers be elected and
Madge Muehlberger seconded the motion. The motion carried by unanimous
vote.
David Murray as chairman, then announced that he would like
to set July 21 , 1981 tentatively as the next meeting date for the Arts
Commission. He then appointed a screening committee for the coming year
consisting of Dorcas Chapman, Chairman; Robert W. Arnold; and Madge
Muehlberger.
The meeting was adjourned at 12:20 p.m.
