Phe Wichita Falls Arts Commission held its monthly meeting on February 20th .
3t 12 Noon at the North Texas Savings and Loan Gallery. The following people

The meeting was called to order by Saundra Heffington, Chairman. She gave
a report from Allan Longacre concerning his first 5 months in Texas, and a
list of grants given in 1978. There was a discussion on Lance Lalor and his
bill in legislation affecting the arts. Letters of Intent have been re-
ceived from the following organizations:
1. Wichita Falls Arts Association
2. Backdoor Theater
J. Broadway Theater
MSU Speech & Drama
2 . Distinguished Artists Series
Ch;e application was received from the Wichita Falls Independent School
District JROTC asking for $550.00 to be granted in March, 1979 to assist
them in Annual Formal Inspection.

There wasa lengthy discussion on using the remaining funds. . .$15,843.75,
which must be spent or requested by September of this year. The meeting
adjourned at 1 p.m. The next meeting will be held on March 20, 1979 at the
North Texas Federal Savings and Loan Gallery at 12 Noon.

Oops! I lost one page of my notes on the minutes that
were mailed to you. Action was taken that should be in-
cluded in the minutes. Please attach this to the original
copy.
One application was received from the Wichita Falls Inde-
pendent School District JROTC asking for $550. 00 to be granted
in March, 1979 to assist them in Annual Formal Inspection.
After discussion of this application, John Hampton made the
motion that we approve the $550. 00 request. Madge Muehlberger
seconded the motion and it passed by a majority vote.
