The Wichita Falls Arts Commission held its monthly meeting on July
18, 1978 at the North Texas Savings and Loan Gallery at 12 Noon. The
following people were in attendance:

Chairman "Saundra Heffington called the meeting to order. The minutes were
approved as printed and mailed. Dr. Jennie Louise Hindman submitted a re-
port from her committee concerning available information on use of funds
of other Arts Commissions. We were also given a written, detailed report
from this committee. Much discussion followed this committee report.
Don Burkman informed the commission members they would be mailed applications
and worksheets this coming week, and would be available from his office to
organizations after August 1st.
Following the lengthy discussion in connection with the Activity Center
and the Wichita Theatre, Dr. Jennie LouiseHindman made the motion that
Chairman Heffington appoint a committee to discuss with City Manager,
Gerald Fox, the status of city negotiations concerning the purchase of
the Wichita Theatre. Jerry Estes seconded the motion and it was passed.
Chairman Heffington appointed a committee of Dr. Jennie Louise Hindman,
Chairman, Johnny Hampton and Jerry Estes, to look into this matter and
report at the next Arts Commission meeting.
Pat Jones moved that each representative as members of the Arts Commission
furnish the Commission with a calendar of events on a yearly basis con-
cerning confirmed dates and monthly dates and changes as they occur.
The motion was seconded by Dr. Jennie Louise Hindman and passed.
The date of the next meeting will be August 15th at the North Texas Gallery.
