The Wichita Falls Arts Commission held a special-called meeting on November 28th
at 2:00 p.m. in the Board Room of North Texas Savings and Loan Association. The
following people were in attendance:

Sixteen of-the seventeen voting members were present!
Chairman Saundra Heffington.called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m.. The previous
minutes were corrected as follows: •
1. Dr. Jennie Louise Hindman be added to the list of those present.
2. Jerry Estes seconded the motion made by Dr. Hindman that the commission request
each agency recommend an alternate with voting privileges to the City Council for
appointment. The minutes were then approved as corrected.
Dr. Jennie Louise Hindman made the motion.to omit the December meeting and resume on
January 16, 1979. Helen Henry seconded and the motion carried.
Dr. Hindman moved that the conmission require an evaluation form filled out by each
organization receiving funds from the commission. Jerry Estes seconded the motion.
Johnny Hampton made an amendment that the Chairman appoint a committee to draft a
contract and follow up form to be used by the awardees of Art Commission Funds. Mark
Wittlinger seconded the motion.
The amendment was voted on and passed. The motion was then voted on and approved.
Chairman Heffington appointed the following committee to work on this project:
Johnny Hampton, Chairman
Don Maxwell
mark Wittlinger.

Dr. Hindman moved that we accept the ballot designed by Johnny Hampton as the Arts
Commission official ballot. Dick Gose seconded the motion and it was unanimously
approved. .
The following applications were approved by a majority vote: .

3. Civic Chorus-Robert Shaw Workshop $2,000.00
4. Hirschi High School JROTC $1,800.00 .
5. MSU Dept. of Music-Texas Opera Theatre $2,500.00 '
6. MSU Dept. of Speech & Drama-Romeo & Juliet $2,700.00
7. Pianists Performance Council-Distinguished
Artist Series $3,056.25
TOTAL OF FUNDING: $24,156.25
Mrs. Madge Muehiberger made the motion that the balance of $15,843.75 be used for
the opening of the Activities Center, and/or future projects. Dick Gose seconded
the notion. •
Johnny Hampton made the amendment that the $15,843.75 be used for future projects
as recommended by the commission including opening festivities of the Activities
Center. Kenneth Kramer seconded the motion.
The amendment was voted on and,passed. The notion was also voted on and approved.
A lengthy discussion followed concerning the remainder of our funds and exactly how
to "ear-mark" for definite availability at a later date.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:00 p.m.
