City Traffic Report
Mark Beauchamp discussed the following and advised report is basically same as
last month:
1. Work is being completed at 6th and Austin. Crews are installing
new pavement markings in order to better direct the traffic
flow. This project is due to a high volume of illegal turns in this
area.
2. The city is in the process of upgrading the traffic management
center. The center will house equipment to be utilized for
controlling and programming traffic signals. March is the
expected completion date.
3. The lighting project that has been discussed in the past will
begin with the installation of 1400 new LED lights. This will
increase the efficiency and quality of light in the areas of
installation.
State Traffic Report
David Rhomer advised of the following:
1. Illumination projects for the Spur 325, I44, and Hwy 287
Interchange is progressing and should be completed in the fall.

3. The Kell re- stripe projection has been completed and seems to
be very effective. The only negative comments Tim Hertel has
received are in reference to the Brook street ramp being too
abrupt. No other complaints were lodged.
4. Safe Routes to School are in the preliminary stages. After an
agreement is reached between the city and the state, the project
will be able to proceed.
