Chairperson Thueson called the Commission meeting to order at 3:10 pm, after a quorum of members was obtained. Ms. Gagne introduced a new planning staff member, Mr. Stephen Zank — Planner II, who replaced recently retired Paul Stillson. Ms. Thueson welcomed everyone and asked members to introduce themselves. II. DISCUSSION OF CERTIFIED LOCAL GOVERNMENT (CLG) FY2009 GRANT SUBMITTAL — HISTORIC SITES BOOKLET Application for the grant was submitted prior to the June 6"' deadline. Notification will be received from THC in the fall. III. APPLICATION FOR DESIGN REVIEW — 3008 10th STREET The applicant gave a report on the house and the history of the property. Replacement windows will match the windows on the front of the house. Mr. Newsom introduced a motion to approve the application as presented and Ms. Carper seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. Staff explained to the applicant a certificate of appropriateness would be mailed to her and a copy of the approval would be provided to the City's Building Inspection Division. APPLICATION FOR DESIGN REVIEW —1609 HAYES STREET Chairperson Thueson requested staff update the Commission regarding the request for replacement windows at 1609 Hayes. Ms. Gagne provided additional information and photos of the house at 1609 Hayes. There was question raised as to what the original windows looked like, but no evidence is available. Members discussed the window replacements at length and Mr. Kidwell introduced a motion to recommend approval of the request to replace the windows on the north and south facades at 1609 Hayes with a condition all windows on the Hayes Street fagade be replaced maintaining a design style of six (6) panes over one (1). Mr. Newsom seconded the motion. Members continued to discuss the proposed window replacements and the motion passed unanimously. Note for Discussion: Chairperson Thueson discussed concerns with recommendations that aren't in keeping with minimum standards outlined in The Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation. V. OTHER BUSINESS Ms. Gagne provided information about current TX Historical Commission resource materials and about the National Trust – National Preservation Conference coming up in Tulsa OK. VI.
