CALL TO ORDER:
Alan Donaldson called the meeting to order at 1:30 p.m. Motion to accept the
minutes was made by Mary Ward and seconded by Stephen Garner. Minutes were
approved.
DEPARTMENTAL REPORT:
No report
OLD BUSINESS:
1. Tour of the 108 acre site to better evaluate use(s) as a public park. Golf
carts were provided by the owner, Gary Patrick.
Board members had several questions about the site and there was a
discussion on the ponds and how the water was fed to them.
After the tour the different possibilities for use of the land were discussed.
Public shelters, natural grasses and flowers, open spaces, trail
connections, and fishing programs were a few of the outdoor possibilities
discussed. The indoor structure could be used for private rentals,
restaurant possibilities, day camps and others were discussed.
Motion for the City to proceed to acquire the property for park purposes
was made and seconded at the last meeting.
