Call to order: Susan Morris, R.S., Chairman presided.

II. Approval of Minutes: The minutes from the ASAC Meeting on January 8, 2008, were
distributed and reviewed. Mr. Wright made the motion to accept these minutes, with a
second by Ms. Miller. Motion carried.
III. Old Business: Mrs. Morris reported that Council Elmore has not heard further on the
primate issue. Additionally, she stated that Councilors Elmore and Smith have
received more support on the feral cat ordinance and thus, we are going to move
ahead.
New Business: Dr. Gibson stated that she will provide veterinarian inspections of the
Animal Reclaim Center in the future, unannounced and without charge. Dr. Gibson
wanted to verify that her inspections would not be a conflict of interest. Discussion followed
and Mr. Wright agreed that he was comfortable with Dr. Gibson performing their
inspections. Mr. Wright led a tour of the Animal Reclaim Center facilities /areas.
He explained the recent TDSHS recommended resurfacing /resealing of the floors. He
explained the painting and flooring process around the cages. Dr. Gibson asked if
there was any reason for rules for the colors used here. Mrs. Morris reported no. Mr.
Wright stated that the new color will be white and easier to keep clean. He asked if
there were any questions or recommendations. Mrs. Morris discussed Rescue &
Foster Care Groups.
Discussion followed on the current monthly contract of disposing of dead animals.
Mrs. Morris reported that our contractor, Mr. Mount just received an increase.
Dr. Gibson asked Mr. Wright what type of cleaners are being utilized at the ARC?
Members discussed "quad" types, tri- pectum and chlorine bleach. Dr. Gibson
recommended switching types because "quad" types leave residue. Mr. Wright
explained their present process. Mrs. Morris and Dr. Gibson cautioned members
about mixing chemicals and consequently resulting in hazardous vapors.
IV. Adjournment: Mrs. Morris asked for the meeting to be adjourned. The meeting
was adjourned at 12:40 p.m. The Humane Society provided lunch afterwards
and members thanked Ms. Harrelson & Mr. Rick Wright.
