Res Resolution Calling the 1920 Election 07/29/1920 RESOLUTION. Whereas, a petition was presented to the Board of Aldermen of ite City of Wichita Falls, Texas, at its regular meeting held on the 29th day of July A.D., 1920, signed by W. W. Gardner and more than tto hundred 1200) other resident property owners of the City of Wichita balls, Texas, who are qualified voters of said City, petitioning the Board of Aldermen of, the City of Wic}ita falls, Texas, to call an election for the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters rho are property owners of said City, the question' of the adoption or the rejection of the benefits of the pro- Tieinhe of Chapter II_, of Title 22, of the Revised Civil Statutes of the State of Texas,, of 19114 and being Articles Nos..• 1006 to 1017 inclusive end• : shereas, said petition having been duly present©~: to the Board of Aldermen at its regular meeting held on the 29th day of July 1920, and the same having been duly considered by the Board of Aldermen, It is, therefore hereby ordered by the Board of Aldermen of the City of ';ichita Walls, Texas, that an of otion be held on the 31st day of Augu t, 1920, at which election the following proposition shall be sub- mitt:,d: Shall the City of Wichita .Falls, Texas, adopt the benefits of they provisions of Chapter II, Title 22, of the Revised Civil Statutes of Torras 1 of 1911, and bei g Articles trios. 1006 to 1017, incl live, and being known as the Street Improvement Law. Said election shall be 'held at tie City Hall, and at the Wichita County Courthou ,e in tie City of Wichita falls, Texas, and the following named persons are hereby appointe managers of said electi-n. At the City Ball, J.B. i'it n Presiding Jud,e, J. S. Bridwell, Assistant Judge, J.J. Manley, C.G. Phillips, and Tom Weidman Clerks; at t e Wichita County CO PT House George Simmons, Presiding Judge, a F. H. Dennison Assistant Judge L.P. Webb, M.O. Monroe, and B. tt. Newton, Clerks. All voters living East of Lamar Street and North of the Wichita River and South and East of the Wichita Valley Railssy track in said City shall vote at tie City Hall Box; all voters living West of Lamar Street in sal.. City shall vote at t e Court House Box.
