City Traffic Report
John Burrus advised the commission that the signal lights downtown have been
removed. There have not been any complaints regarding the changes. Mr. Burrus also
reported that the timing issues on Scott are good since the changes have been implemented.
The traffic department has received favorable response on the changes made on Harrison
and Speedway. City crews will change the parking allowances on Lebanon around the end
of the month. Right now, the crews are painting poles and stripping around the city. Mr.
Burrus will be looking at the traffic flow on Maplewood and Southwest Parkway at
different times of the day to improve the flow of traffic.
State Traffic Report
Mr. Tim Hertel advised that the overhead entrance should be open within the
month of May. TXDOT will be looking at entrance lanes and merge conditions onto the
overhead.
Committee Reports
Public Service Announcements - Ty Walker reported that the video for the MSU
Bicycle Team has been shot and will be presented to the commission for approval. He also
advised that Linda Ammons has been able to get a radar trailer as a loaner to make a TV
spot. There will be footage made on the promotion of the trailer on Wednesday, May 22 "d
at Ave. O and Kemp. The spot will promote the various ways of utilizing the trailer and
will hopefully help generate revenue to help purchase the equipment. Commission
members will participate in the taping. The members that will be supporting the
promotional are Tim Hertel, Brad Hardin, Joe Clement, John Burrus, & Jody Wade.
The promotional will be held on Wednesday at Ave. O and Kemp and will start at
2:00 p.m. Item to remain open.

Item 02 -02: Spring Safety Patrol Party
Elaine Bourgoin reported that Thursday, May 23 "d from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
will be the time and date for the party at Sand Beach Swimming Pool. Mrs. Bourgoin
reminded members of their assignments to make the party successful. Everyone was
encouraged to be there to help with supervision of the participants. Item to remain open.
Item 02 -03: Lake Park Dr. at Weeks Pk. Lane
John Burrus reported that the city ordinance allows for restriction of
parking on the street when conditions exist to create safety problems. His recommendation
is to restrict parking on the north side of the street. He will arrange for press coverage and
should have the work completed within two weeks. Item to remain open.

Items of Discussion
MSgt. Jim Zillweger brought an issue involving Reilly Rd. for the commission's
review. MSgt. Zillweger has been in touch with the city offices regarding the condition and
the width of the road. He feels it is an unsafe situation when the children are coming and
going from the school. The width of the road does not meet requirements and the condition
of the street creates problems for the neighbors. Mr. Burrus agreed to conduct the study to
try to alleviate the space. He will report back the commission this morning. Councilor
Ammons will also get in touch with the engineering department to determine if there is
anything that can be done.
There being no further business before the Commission, the meeting was adjourned
at 2:55 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
