City Traffic Report
John Burrus reported to the commission that no major problems have been
involved with the removal of the traffic signals downtown. The accidents that have
occurred could have been avoided by closer attention by the drivers. The project
should be completed next week. His department will be watching the accident data.
State Traffic Report
Mr. Tim Hertel reported that the Seymour Highway project is still in
progress. A turn lane for the Tanglewood area has been scheduled but he is unsure
of the date for that part of the project.
Committee Reports
None.
Unfinished Business

Item 03 -03: Safe School Routes
Mr. John Burrus reported that the committee is still working on the project.
They now have the maps of the school areas. Mr. Kenneth Parker advised the
commission that their goal is to have the plan ready for the next school year so they
can provide the parents with the maps and information upon registration. Item to
remain open.
Item 03 -04: Annual Workshop
The commission decided that since there are no major projects pending at
this time, the workshop will be postponed until later in the year or as needed. Item
closed.
Item 03 -05: Solicitors
Elaine Bourgoin advised the commission that there are no state laws or city
ordinances that prohibit solicitors in the medians. At one time there was a city
ordinance that has now been repealed. The only offense involved is when a motorist
stops in the lane of traffic. At that point, the police department could enforce the
offense of impeding traffic. Mrs. Bourgoin suggested that the item remain open
until Mr. Wade would be back for further discussion. Item to remain open.
