Items of Discussion
Trooper Joe Clement suggested to Mr. Ken Parker that the reward system for the
teachers that participate in the School Safety Patrol programs be revised. Adjustments
could be made to encourage the teachers to become more proactive on their campus. Mr.
Parker will take the suggestion to the school board for consideration.
Councilwoman Linda Ammons asked the commission to take a look at the area of
Barnett Rd. at Briargate. Traffic flow from the housing addition onto Seymour Highway is
impaired due to the traffic flow particularly in the mornings. Mr. Beauchamp advised the
commission that a traffic study for that area is scheduled in January and that information
will provide the statistics needed for any changes. However, the department will also look
at the area now for any possible remedies.
Co Chairman Beauchamp advised the commission that there will not be a July
meeting.
