upgrade is now complete. The next project starts next week on the lighting on
Kemp St. from Kell to Hampstead. They are also in the process of upgrading
signals at the main gate at Sheppard Air Force Base for pedestrian crossings. They
are also working on crosswalks at First Baptist Church as well as United Regional
Hospital on 11th St.
State Traffic Report
Chairman Hertel advised the commission that crosswalks and curb ramps at the
main gate at Sheppard Air Force Base are in the planning stage. ADA ramps will
also be included at the same time. A start date has not been given for the project.

Unfinished Business
Item 05 -03: Spring Safety Patrol Swim Party
Elaine Bourgoin reported that once again the party had to be cancelled due to
inclement weather conditions. Cookies and sodas were provided to each campus
patrol unit the following morning for their last day of school. Mrs. Bourgoin
suggested that we try to come up with an alternate plan that can be implemented
under these circumstances. Item held for further discussion.
New Business
Item 05 -04: Legislative Update
Elaine Bourgoin advised the commission that legislature is being called back into
special session. Mrs. Bourgoin will be attending the legislature update seminar in
August and should be able to report back to the commission at that time. Item to
remain open.
Items of discussion
Mr. Jim Zillweger presented an article that he had been asked to bring to the
commission regarding the accidents that have occurred at Jacksboro Highway at
Rathgeber Rd. The letter was from a resident that had been involved in an
accident at the intersection. The vehicle was totaled and there were injuries. The
individual was asking the commission to take another look at the area to determine
if there is anything that can be done to stop the accidents. Mr. Beauchamp and Mr.
Hertel will again review the area for any possible solutions.
There being no further business before the Commission, the meeting was
adjourned at 2:45 P.M.
