The Wichita Falls Sales Tax Corporation met on Wednesday, April 26, 2000.
The purpose of the meeting was to conduct a field tour to observe the
construction of New Fire Station No. 3, located at Brewster and Midwestern
Parkway and to tour the 2 "d Floor of the Wichita Falls Public Library to observe
the renovation of the recreation center areas.
Mr. Boone called the meeting to order at 8:40 a.m. and the members boarded
the Fire Department's command center to travel to new Fire Station No. 3. In
addition to the Board members, City Councilor Bud Beaty was also present.
Chief James conducted the tour.
At the construction site, Councilor Johnny Burns joined the group. Also present
at the site were Conrad Staley and Monty Monson with the architectural firm of
Staley Baker Monson as well as Nick Bratcher and Wade Scarbrough from N.R.
Bratcher Construction, the general contractor for the project.
At approximately 9:45 a.m., the Board then traveled to the library located at 600
Eleventh Street. Mr. Mallonee left the tour at this point due to other
commitments. The Board was met by Jack Murphy and Glenn Jamison from the
Parks and Recreation Department and toured the facility for about forty -five
minutes.
The Board returned to Memorial Auditorium and adjourned the meeting at 10:40
a.m. ' ouncil Co ce Room. No business was conducted.
