Resolution Authorizing The Purchase Of 5 Outdoor Warning Sirens
And Upgrade Components For 8 Existing Units From American
Communication In The Amount Of $122,156.20
WHEREAS, the 4B Board is funding a four-year plan to upgrade and replace the
City's outdoor warning sirens; and
WHEREAS; the City Council wishes to enhance the City's outdoor warning
system for the safety and well being of the citizens, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that this purchase is exempt from the state's
competitive bidding requirements pursuant to Texas Local Government Code § 252.022
because it is a procurement necessary to preserve or protect the public health or safety
of the municipality's residents and because it is a procurement of items that are
available from only one source in accordance with subsection (a)(7) thereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF WICHITA FALLS, TEXAS, THAT:
The purchase of five outdoor warning sirens and upgrade components for eight
existing units from American Communication is approved in the amount of $122,156.20,
as described in the attached Outdoor Warning System Component List, and City
staff is authorized to execute all documents necessary to effectuate said purchase.
