Building and Code Adm.) Joe Davis (Chief Plumbing and Mechanical Inspector) David Collins (Fire Marshall) Larry Wilkinson II (Plans Examiner) Chairman Lane called the meeting to order at 10:00 am. The meeting opened with Chairman Lane stating that the meeting today would be to go over the 2006 International Building, Residential, Mechanical, Fuel Gas, Plumbing, and Fire Codes. Chairman Lane recommended starting off with the 2006 International Building Code. Mr. Teague stated that the 2006 Building Code was reviewed by a committee that included Glenda Ramsey, Kevin Darnell, Harris Pink and Jackie Lebow, Jr. Mr. Teague announced that the committee had not made any changes to the 2006 Building Code. Upon further discussion with the Construction Board of Adjustment and Appeals, the Board decided to not adopt Section 3410 Compliance Alternatives of Chapter 34. The Board did agree to adopt Chapter 13 the Energy Efficiency section. Mr. Shine made a motion to approve. Mr. Pink followed with the second, the vote was unanimous. - - - Chairman Lane suggested that the committee continue on and review the 2006 International Residential Code. Mr. Teague stated the review committee had made a decision to delete Section P2713.3 Bathtub and Whirlpool bathtub valves. This is a new requirement that bathtub valves shall be limited to a maximum temperature. The review committee felt this wasn't necessary. Mr. Teague stated that the committee wanted to delete Appendix P Sprinkling. Motion to approve made by Mr. Shine; Mr. Pink followed with the second; the vote was unanimous. Chairman Lane suggested that the committee review the International Mechanical Code next. Chairman Lane is on the review committee for the IMC. Chairman Lane discussed what the review committee had recommended. The only relative change was pertaining to Section 307.2.3 Auxiliary and secondary drain systems specifically number 4. The review committee decided to delete this option. This discussion also included changes to the International Plumbing Code. The requirement of 10 -foot of head water for testing drainage systems was deleted and 5 -foot head water was added for the testing. Mr. Shine made a motion to approve. Mr. Martin followed with the second, the vote was unanimous. Chairman Lane moved on to the International Fuel Gas Code. The review committee deleted Section 307.5 Auxiliary drain pans. Mr. Dennis made a motion to approve. Mr. Pink followed with the second, the vote was unanimous. Mr. Teague stated Mr. Collins has reviewed the International Fire Code. In addition, Mr. Teague is recommending changes to the wording from "is" to "may be" in regards to operational permits. Mr. Collins stated there were not any significant changes to the International Fire Code. Mr. Teague introduced Section 46 -27 of the City of Wichita Falls Code of Ordinances - Enumeration of loud, disturbing and unnecessary noises. The current ordinance allows construction type work during the weekdays from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Mr. Teague recommended changing that time to 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., seven days a week. Mr. Ayres made a motion to approve. Mr. Richardson followed with a second, the vote was unanimous. There was no other business. Chairman Lane adjourned the meeting at 11:00 a.m. Leo Lane Chairman
