Department of Music Ms. Lin Purtle, Kemp Center for the Arts Mr. Bob Monaghan, Kemp Center for the Arts Ms. Marsha Dillon, Kemp Center for the Arts Don Burkman, Arts Commission Administrator, called the meeting of the Wichita Falls Arts Commission to order at 11:30 a.m. at the Heritage Society Offices in the Kemp Kell Depot Building. Joe Tom White moved that the reading of the minutes of the last meeting, September 26, 2001, be dispensed with. The motion was seconded by Elizabeth Edwards and carried by unanimous vote. Don Burkman welcomed new Arts Commission Members who are David Ramsey, Wray Williams, John Christoff, and Lynn Marshall and stated that the Oath of Office had been administered individually to each of these new members. A report from the nominating committee, composed of Randolph Duke and Jim Pettyjohn, was presented by Randolph Duke who moved to nominate the following officers for the Wichita Falls Arts Commission to serve for fiscal year 2002/2003: Joe Tom White, Chairman Jeanette Bradley, Vice Chairman Jean Hall, Secretary A motion to nominate these officers was made by John Christoff and seconded by Randolph Duke. The motion carried by unanimous vote. A discussion followed concerning grant applications for funding from the FY 2002/2003 Budget. The following applications have been received from local 501 -C3 organizations on or before the May I" deadline and were approved for consideration for funding by a City Council Subcommittee on Outside Agency Funding on July 17, 2002: Amount Organization Wichita Falls Ballet Theatre, Inc. These organizations were Wichita Falls Ballet Theatre, Inc., Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra, Inc. Wichita County Heritage Society, Inc., Midwestern State University Department of Art, Kemp Center for the Arts, Wichita Falls Backdoor Players, Inc., Midwestern State University Choral Department, Wichita Falls Community Messiah, Inc., Wichita Falls Railroad Museum, Inc., and The Performing Arts Alliance. Following the presentations, there was no discussion to consider not recommending funding for any of the applications. Balloting followed with 16 present Commission members filling out individual ballots. These ballots were then averaged by applicant to produce the following recommendation to the City Council for funding from the FY 2002 -2003 Budget: Organization Amount Recommended W.F.
