DEPARTMENTAL REPORT:
OLD BUSINESS:
NEW BUSINESS:
Lease Committee Report — The Lease Committee met Thursday, October 19, 2006
and went on a tour of ball fields in University Kiwanis Park and Lake Wichita Park.
Peg Marquardt gave a report on the activity to the Board. Kiwanis Park has four
ball fields used by the YMCA. The University Kiwanis Club is the operator of the
concession building. Lake Wichita Park has several baseball fields and most are
used by the YMCA. The large football fields at the north end of Lake Wichita Park
are used by the Boy's and Girl's Club. These ball fields are used about three and
one half months out of the year. The cost of electricity used for these fields was
discussed as well as the maintenance of lights, mowing, and upkeep.
There is a new concession and restroom building being built at Lake Wichita Park
by the ball field area and is almost complete. A ten to twelve foot drive going to
this facility was discussed.
The football stadium at the north end of Lake Wichita Park is used by the Boy's and
Girl's Club. The use of signs for advertisement and how this should be handled
was discussed.
Alan Donaldson wanted to know if Mr. Emory knew how much longer it was going
to be before the lease discussion would be settled and could be implemented.
Elmer Emory was not sure but he thought it might be three or four months at the
most
