A quorum was present and the meeting was called to order at 4:26 pm.
Minutes from December 5, 2006 were approved with minor changes.
In the Librarian's Report, Ms. Daly informed the Board that the library is now (finally) fully staffed. Both
Carolyn Haines and Johnnie Gardner have started work as Librarian I and II respectively, and are settling in
very well.
Area librarians from different types of libraries are meeting quarterly and sharing happenings and events.
Hopefully this will lead to future cooperative and collaborative ventures.
Wichita Falls Reads is going forward as one such collaborative project — the first meeting to discuss
tentative plans and timelines is slated for Thursday February 1 at 6:00pm in the WFPL Conference Room.
There has been considerable enthusiasm from the high schools to have this project continue. Any and all
board members are invited to attend.
Old Business: In regard to OBOC, Andrea Williams confirmed that the Junior League has already heard
presentations for funding 2007 projects.
The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at 4:15 in the Conference Room.
The meeting adjourned at 5:15 pm.
