A quorum was present and the meeting was called to order at 4:20 pm.

In the Librarian's Report, Ms. Morrison informed the Board that the NTRLS System Assembly Meeting would take
place on Thursday May 24`h. This is an annual awards ceremony to honor librarians, libraries, and volunteers within
the system.
Ms. Morrison also described upcoming events associated with Summer Reading. This year's Summer Reading
Program will run from May 29h through July 3151— almost 4 weeks longer than usual. This year the library is
especially promoting the Adult Summer Reading program, which will feature drawings for gift baskets containing
prizes donated by community businesses. A new Library Page has been hired who should report on or about the
first day of Summer Reading.
The library began offering its wireless connection in mid -April and so far 21 different people have successfully used
it for 68 sessions. Library Elf, a free web -based service for keeping track of library books, was also launched during
in mid -April during National Library Week. Currently about 40 users have signed up for this free service.
• Ms. Williams discussed recent developments with the Wichita Falls Reads program. Two books are being
considered and the final choice will be made as soon as possible so that the local schools may include the book in
their fall curriculum.
In the Friends' Report, Nell Lister announced that the Friends of the Library could still use more volunteers as well
as books. Unsold books from the Wichita Adult Literacy Council's recent book sale will not be given to the Friends
because they are mostly dated Reference books.
The next meeting is scheduled for September 25th, 2007 at 4:15 in the Conference Room.
The meeting adjourned at 4:45 pm.
