I. CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson called the meeting to order but did not attain quorum for official business. Both
planning staff and Commission members apologized to Mr. Mark Zug, an applicant for a design
review application, noting that this situation is a rare occurrence.
II. ELECTION OF COMMISSION CHAIRPERSON/VICE CHAIRPERSON
Chairperson requested this item be addressed at the next Commission meeting.
III. REVIEW & APPROVAL OF JANUARY MEETING MINUTES
Mr. Clark stated the minutes would have to be reviewed and approved at the next Commission
meeting when more members are in attendance.
IV. APPLICATION FOR DESIGN REVIEW —1609 GRANT — NEW CONSTRUCTION
The Commission members in attendance discussed the proposed application with Mr. Zug. Staff
commented that a phone poll of the members not in attendance would be conducted the following
day. Mr. Zug indicated he's a licensed contractor and would be building the shed in the rear yard
to echo the house style with a similar style of the house with a porch, railing and wood
construction.
Staff conducted a phone poll of Commission members who were absent from the February 22"d
meeting. The remaining Commission members were unanimously in support of approving the
design review application for a storage building in the rear yard of 1609 Grant
• V. DISCUSSION & UPDATE OF BERRY BROWN HOUSE ENDANGERED LISTING
Planning staff highlighted the presentation /press conference by Preservation Texas at the Texas
State Capital on February 8th. The Commission endorsed staff to submit the Berry Brown House
Landmark Commission February 22, 2006 page 1

(City of Wichita Falls Landmark #10) at Travis & 14`h Streets for consideration for the Statewide
Most Endangered List.
VI. OTHER BUSINESS:
a) Update — historic properties /activities
Ms. Thueson recommended that the CLG Steering Committee reconvene in about 6 weeks
after work groups have had sufficient time to accomplish some research and tasks. The
group was in agreement and suggested meeting either early March or immediately after the
school break during the week of March 201h
b) Update — CLG Heritage Video Project
VII. ADJOURN
The Commission adjourned the meeting discussion at 4:40 pm.
