City Traffic Report
Chairman Mark Beauchamp advised the commission that the project on Fisher Rd.
is still in progress. The city is looking at making some changes for the traffic signal timing
for the holidays to try to improve traffic flow. Other projects are in a hold pattern waiting
for the boring contractor to complete that portion of the work.
State Traffic Report
None due to Mr. Hertel's absence.
Unfinished Business
Item 06 -07: Nomination Committee
Ms. Laney Oliver advised the commission that the committee would like to
recommend both the chair and co -chair serve another year. Item Closed.
New Business
Item 06 -08: Election of Officers
Mr. David Brock motioned the reappointment of current officers by acclamation.
Vote was unanimous. Item closed.
Item 06 -09: Northbound Overhead Traffic Concerns
Mr. Howard Allison presented pictures and descriptions of the area of concern.
Several years ago the Texas Dept. of Transportation merged the two lanes coming off of
Hwy. 281 where it joins U.S. Hwy. 287 northbound. All traffic was merged into the left
lane to allow traffic from 287 to continue without lanes merging together. The
arrangement worked well until the construction started for the connectors on the overhead.
The problem now is concerning the exit to U.S. Hwy. 82 on the far right with a short
distance from the merge of 281 and 287. Traffic coming off of 281 is merging over to take
the right exit and the traffic coming off of 287 is not expecting the merging traffic. The
location of the U.S. Hwy. 82 exit is creating the congestion. The commission agreed that the
area is one that needs to be studied more closely to determine if there is an alternate means
for the traffic taking that exit. Chairman Beauchamp thanked Mr. Allison for bringing it
to the attention of the commission. Item to remain open for further evaluation.
Items of Discussion
Mr. David Brock questioned the placement of two street lights on Rosewood and
East Scott. Chairman Beauchamp advised Mr. Brock that the lights were part of the Texas
Dept. of Transportation specifications for the area.
Trooper Joe Clement advised that the skate party is due next month. The
commission approved for the arrangements to be made for the event. Trooper Clement
will set the arrangements and notify Mrs. Bourgoin for notification to the members. The
approximate cost is $300.00.

Brenda Chuleewah advised the commission that she will be conducting a walkability
survey at the elementary campuses. She will report back to the commission on her
findings.
There being no further business before the commission, the meeting was adjourned
at 2:35 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
Mark Beauchamp Elaine Bourgoin
