Chairman Mark Beauchamp called the November meeting of the Wichita Falls
Traffic Safety Commission to order at 1:35 p.m.
Clyde Williford offered the invocation.
The minutes and financial report for October were approved as written.

Accident Statistics
Leland Wright reported that there were a total of 343 accidents for the month.
There were 84 injury accidents with 99 injuries. This year's report shows 16
fatalities for the year.
City Traffic Report
Chairman Beauchamp reported that the signs and signals on the flyover will be
replaced in the near future. Mr. Beauchamp also reported that the new sign shop
will be operational next week with state of the art equipment. Commission members
were invited to visit the shop to see the capabilities now available.
State Traffic Report
Mr. Tim Hertel reported that the grand opening for the flyover will be held at noon
on November 13th. The Loop 11 project will begin again after the first of the new
year.
Committee Report
Chairman Beauchamp reported that the committee is looking at 10 minute public
service announcements on what to do in case of an accident. The committee is also
looking at having brochures to hand out to the public with the same information.
The price they have found is 1000 for $60.00. The next committee meeting will be
held at Central Services on 11 -15 -07 at 1:30.
New Business
1. Item 07 -09: Election of Officers
Nominations for Chairman for 2008 is Laney Oliver and for Co -Chair is Clyde
Williford. Nominations were accepted and approved unanimously.
Unfinished Business
1. Item 07 -01: Solicitation Ordinance
Hold.
2. Item 07 -05: Safety Patrol Party
Chairman Beauchamp advised that he is still checking on the MPEC for ice
skating. The commission approved up to $600 in expenditures for the event.
Item to remain open.
3. Item 07 -07: Maplewood & Midwestern Parkway
Chairman Beauchamp advised that this item is on the list for funding and
feasibility study. Item closed.
4. Item 07 -08: Rivercrest at Seymour Rd.
Chairman Beauchamp advised that this item is also on the list for funding
and feasibility study. Item closed.
5. Item 07 -10: Areas of Concern for School Crossings
Mr. Tim Turner reported that there are several areas of concern:

Kiwanis Park and Rider High School — north side of Southwest Parkway
North of Stadium at McNeil — no crossing guard
Professional Dr. at Southwest Parkway to Fain School
Old Windthorst Rd. and Lamar School
Chairman Beauchamp advised he will get with the city engineers to look at
the areas listed. Item to remain open.
Items of Discussion
Mr. David Brock advised that the area of the Flying J and Jacksboro Hwy. is
still an area of concern. Mr. Hertel advised they will do another study to look for
possible improvements.
There being no further business before the Commission, the meeting was
adjourned at 2:55 P.M.
