Water Resources Commission Meeting
September 11, 1998
The Water Resources Commission met in regular session on September 11, 1998. The
following persons were present:
Elizabeth Martin
Paul Dowlearn
Syd Litteken
Staff Representative David Lehfeldt
The current levels of Lake Arrowhead and Lake Kickapoo were discussed with further
discussion on production from the Cypress and Jasper water plants and the need for
rain. Paul Dowlearn brought up a question on how we can get more information to the
public on using a drip irrigation methods, possibly using the tree ordinance and working
through the Parks Department. The article in this mornings paper regarding San Diego
recycling waste water to drinking water was discussed as was El Paso's situation and
then members decided that it would be advantageous for the City to explore this
avenue and we agreed that we would look into it. Dave Lehfeldt mentioned that in the
previous meeting it had been discussed about being a member of the Texas WaterWise
Council and that in fact this city is.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:30 a.m. The next meeting will be November 6, 1998
at 10:00 a.m.
