Dennis Marquardt called the March 7th meeting of the Wichita Falls Traffic Safety
Commission to order at 1:30 p.m.
The minutes were approved after revision for February 2011.
The financial report for March was presented by Stan Horton. Balance is $0.00.
Accident Statistics:
Karl Lillie of WFPD advised the total crashes for February 2012 were 236 of which
35 were injury accidents and 0 fatalities. There have been 0 fatalities for 2012.

Mark Beauchamp advised all projects are all about the same but in different stages.
1. Mark advised his department is still in the yearly maintenance
mode at this time and will soon begin a warning siren replacement
project.
2. Intersection of Barnett and Southwest Parkway has a new systems
update. It is nearing completion as well as Fairway and Seymour
Hwy.
State Traffic Report
David Rhomer advised their projects are also in the same stages.
1. Moving the existing exit ramp at Kell and Fairway job should
be underway soon.
2. High mast illumination replacement at 281/287 intersection will
let today.

Items of Discussion:
None
1. Mark Beauchamp advised we should start our preparations for
the 2012 Bicycle Rodeo. We also are looking for sponsors for the
helmet donations. Charles Grady has some club and organizations
that he can contact for sponsorship. The TSC has a $1500
donation goal for the 2012 rodeo. Mark Beauchamp will check on
a print job through the city for flyers to target the schools, Boys
and Girls Clubs, Campfire, and bicycle shops.
2. No bicycle ordinance on Kell Boulevard: Mark Beauchamp has
asked the TSC to vote on having the city change the existing
ordinance to allow for bicyclists to ride on Kell. It was agreed that
a letter would be drafted and sent to council for approval.
3. Dennis Marquardt has been invited to speak at the Wichita Falls
Rotary Club North. This invitation was given in regards to
sponsorship for the 2012 bicycle rodeo.
